Introduction to the Course Syllabus

This course is very much directed towards young adults who need to have clear understanding about themselves and their place in modern world. The course covers rights and responsibilities towards family and community. The learners will enjoy the beauty and wisdom of Islamic knowledge with great in depth understanding. They will gain insight into basic teachings of the Quran, the most important Ahadith of the prophet (s), concrete knowledge about personal life, business life and family life.

Course Modules

  • Detailed and inspiring commentary on selected Surahs and verses of the Quran.
  • Emphasis on extracting relevant lessons for daily life.
  • Understanding the sources and methodology of interpreting the Quran.
  • Introduction to the field of Quranic Sciences and the history of the Quran's compilation.

Seerah:

  • Comprehensive study of the life of the Blessed Messenger, including his Meccan and Medinan
    periods.
  • Exploration of the lives of the companions, the biographies of the Khulafa Rashideen (The Four
    Caliphs), and the Mothers of the Believers (the Prophet's wives)

 

Hadith:

  • Explanation of the sayings of the Prophet found in Zad al-Talibin (Provisions for the Seekers).
  • Introduction to the science of Hadith, classifications, methodology, and terminologies used in
    Hadith.
  • Understanding the basic tenets of faith through Imam Tahawi's Aqidah al-Tahawiyah.
  • In-depth exploration of Islamic legal rulings related to ritual purification, menstruation, Salah,
    Zakah, fasting, and Udhiya (sacrifice).
  • Analysis of the sources of Islamic law, methodologies, and the foundation of the legal schools in the
    classical era.
  • Being Productive: Management and self-discipline in Islam, addressing topics like health, stress,
    time management, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships, and personal productivity.
  • Islam, Women, and Gender, covering issues such as Hijab, inter-gender interaction, and the
    contributions of women to knowledge and scholarship.
  • Marriage in Islam, offering guidance on achieving marital bliss in accordance with Islamic
    principles, from understanding love and marriage to building a strong, loving marriage.
  • Islamic Spirituality: Introduction to the science of Islamic spirituality based on the Quran and
    Sunnah, exploring diseases of the heart, their symptoms, and cures, and discussing various stations of
    certainty, like repentance, patience, gratitude, hope, and more.
  • Islamic Etiquette and Conduct, emphasizing the manners and conduct expected of Muslims in
    various aspects of life.
